You don’t have to keep everything together, while appearing fine on the outside. When you start to feel safer in your body, it becomes easier to show up.
My Background and Approach
I’m Joy Allovio, a licensed counselor in Waco, TX. I provide therapy in person here in Waco and virtually across Texas. I work with women who are capable, thoughtful, and ready for change. With women who want to feel less anxious, less stuck in their heads, and more like themselves again. I became a therapist because I’ve seen how much early experiences and relationships shape the way we show up in the world. Many women learn to be responsible, accommodating, or emotionally strong without realizing how much their mind and body is still trying to keep them safe. Anxiety, people-pleasing, and self-doubt aren’t flaws, they’re survival strategies your body has learned over time. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Clients come to see me looking for a therapist who helps them feel seen and understood, because therapy should be a place where you feel supported and safe. Sessions with me are about more than just talking. We will incorporate mind and body, so you can experience wholeness again. Together, we get to where you're feeling stuck and work to fix it. An an anxiety and trauma therapist, I believe people have the strength for lasting change. You don't have to continue to worry and you don't have to do it alone. We will always go at your pace, never pushing you to a place you don't feel ready to be.
