About My Clients
The clients I have experience working with are adolescents (13yr-18yr) and young adults (20yr-26yr) who struggle with a multitude of problematic issues. These issues can be displayed as self-harming, violence, anger, depression, self-esteem, suicidal ideations, trauma, life-transitions, couples, and family conflict. As a therapist I want to ensure that my clients are receiving the best treatment possible, so to ensure this I integrate family therapy, when possible, as part of treatment.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist who is client centered-focused. I understands that every individual is unique, has the ability to manage and find the best solutions in order to make changes in their lives, and that humans are meaning makers who construct their own realities. Through utilizing an eclectic approach, I will help guide you toward self-actualization, a sense of well-being, and growing as we collaboratively take on this journey together. Motivation is key to success, so as a therapist I focus on your strengths and utilize different forms of approaches that will provide you with the skills and techniques you will need to come out successful. The approaches that you will see in many of my session include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Existentialism, EMDR, Structural Family Therapy, and Attachment-Based Theory. As your therapist I want to help organize your thoughts and reduce the negative belifes, behaviors, and symptoms.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has the power to change. The question is when? From a developmental stance, I firmly believe that the individual we become is derived from our upbringing, attachments, family life, and social life. These factors play a crucial and significant role in who we become and how we make decisions in our life. How we see and interact in the world all comes from a place of internal psyche. We want to make sense of who we are, what we're doing, when things will happen, why we do things, and what all this is for? I firmly believe that any confusion, difficulties, addictions, and harm that you are currently struggling with can be explored, reduced, and possibly eliminated though therapy. As a therapist I believe that all sessions should be run in a genuine, non-judgmental, and safe environment.
