I work with people that are dealing with depression, anxiety, and sleep issues. I help teach the skills necessary to reduce feelings of shame and judgement that might be holding someone back from achieving their goals. I work with individuals and couples that want to better their relationships by helping with unresolved resentment, poor boundaries, problems with trust, and issues in effective communication.

Men and women both experience mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety but their symptoms can be very different. Because men who are depressed or anxious may appear to be angry or aggressive. Their families, friends, and even their doctors may not always recognize the anger or aggression as depressive or anxious symptoms. In addition, men are less likely than women to recognize, talk about, and seek treatment for depression. Yet depression and anxiety impact a large number of men.

Men are often told they have to ‘get in touch with their feelings,’ but what does this mean and how do you do it? I help men become more aware of their emotions, how to manage them, and how to talk about them. Learning to put words to what you are feeling, identify and express feelings are learned behavior – and like riding a bike, it takes practice. Showing your vulnerability with people who you feel safe with can bring you closer to others and may even bring a sense of relief.

Integrative therapy is a progressive form of psychotherapy that combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of the individual client. As an integrative psychotherapist I combine elements drawn from different schools of psychological theory and research. Integrative therapy is a more flexible and inclusive approach to treatment than more traditional, singular forms of psychotherapy.

Mindfulness-based therapy uses the practice of mindfulness to promote good mental and physical health. Mindfulness therapy can help anyone, especially those who are new to the practice of mindfulness. Being trained in mindfulness-based therapy, I have helped people with mental health issues like depression, addiction, anxiety, and other mental conditions. It can also help if you have physical problems that are causing or caused by your mental health issues.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. My goal when using CBT with clients is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people's difficulties, and so change the way they feel. As a cognitive behavioral psychotherapist, I help those that are trying become more in control over their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

There are men who are predisposed to be emotionally present in a relationship and others who are not. This predisposition is an intrinsic part of personality or may be borne of earlier experiences, including the models men grew up with, their previous positive or negative relationships, their temperament, and the social norms that surround them.
