About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, life transitions, and the pressure to meet others' expectations. Whether you're struggling with boundaries, communication, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from yourself, we'll explore the patterns shaping your experiences. Together, we'll work toward healthier relationships, greater self-awareness, and the ability to stay connected to others without losing yourself.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from a COAMFTE-accredited program. My approach is grounded in Bowen Family Systems Theory, which explores how family dynamics, relationship patterns, and past experiences influence who we are today. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, boundaries, and identity. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I help clients understand the patterns contributing to their struggles and develop the tools to create meaningful change. As a retired Army veteran with 24 years of service, I also bring an understanding of military life, leadership, and major life transitions. My goal is to help you strengthen your sense of self, improve your relationships, and learn to respond to life's challenges with greater confidence and intention.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe meaningful change begins with understanding ourselves, not judging ourselves. As a gay man and retired Army veteran, I bring both personal and professional experience navigating identity, relationships, expectations, and major life transitions. I value authenticity, compassion, personal growth, and the freedom to define who we are rather than who others expect us to be. I'm committed to providing an inclusive, affirming space where people from all backgrounds feel respected and supported. My philosophy is simple: We cannot control everyone or everything around us, but we can learn to understand ourselves, take responsibility for our choices, and build healthier connections without losing our individuality.
