About My Clients

Have you wondered why your anxiety seems particularly stubborn? You recognize these obsessive worries don’t really make sense, but you can’t shake them off, and have come to use a long list of rituals or compulsions to get only temporary relief. You may have even Googled about OCD, or gone to therapy for anxiety with little progress. I specialize in using Exposure/Response Prevention to treat OCD effectively. Let’s talk on a free phone consultation.

My Background and Approach

I have an international education, with postdoctoral training in a leading OCD clinic at UF Health. I have also worked with parents on improving parent-child relationship, parenting coaching, and consultation. The bulk of my recent counseling work was in a university counseling center, where I treated hundreds of college students struggling with life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem difficulties, family conflicts, relationship concerns, trauma, motivation issues, neurodivergence (ADHD and autism), and depression. I approach each session seriously and with great care as I help clients open up, slow down, examine what’s getting in the way of their happiness, and reflect on how they’d like their life to change. Clients usually start to feel comfortable fairly quickly, and begin to see real improvements in their lives within the first month. I use evidence-based treatments such as ERP/CBT, DBT, and ACT. I’m also trained in IFS, attachment, and relational cultural work.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe as humans, we are all flawed in some ways, and we’re all doing our best. With that in mind, self-compassion becomes so important for us to learn from our past, take good care of ourselves, and empower us as we step into our future. I also believe in balance, whether that’s balancing our needs vs. others’, our rationality vs. our emotions, our individual values vs. our family values, or even our own conflicting desires. I provide affirming services to the LGBTQ+ community and I’m passionate about serving my fellow BIPOC communities. I don’t shy away from difficult conversations when different backgrounds or identities between myself and my clients are relevant in therapy sessions. In my free time, I enjoy paddleboarding and going on hikes. I’m also attempting to start a vegetable garden, and I volunteer at the Humane Society animal shelter.
