About My Clients
My clients reflect diverse genders, races, orientations, and identities. They may face depression, anxiety, substance use, or attention challenges. I specialize in supporting individuals with emotional dysregulation and am certified in DBT for personality disorders, with a focus on borderline personality disorder.
My Background and Approach
I believe therapy should honor each person’s individuality while offering practical tools for growth. My approach combines DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients build skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and strengthen motivation for change. With DBT, we focus on mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to manage intense emotions and relationships. CBT techniques help identify and reframe negative thinking, while Motivational Interviewing supports clients in exploring ambivalence and finding their own reasons for change. Together, these approaches empower clients to feel more in control, reduce suffering, and create a path toward lasting resilience and self-acceptance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in supporting the growth and acceptance of all individuals, honoring the uniqueness of each person’s journey. I respect all religions and spiritual practices, even when they differ from my own, and strive to create a safe, inclusive space for healing. My commitment extends beyond the therapy room, as I actively volunteer with military causes and families through V.F.W. Post 2645 and the American Legion. I see it as my responsibility to continually challenge myself, learn new therapeutic approaches, and refine my skills so I can provide the most effective care possible. Growth is a lifelong process, and I hold myself to the same standard I encourage in my clients: to keep learning, evolving, and striving toward resilience and empowerment.
