About My Clients
I help adults recover from trauma, manage anxiety, and cope with stress or burnout. I've worked with many people in high-stress roles—like healthcare providers, first responders, or other helping professionals—and are used to putting others first. Some are looking to better manage the pressure of the present; others want to move forward from something painful in the past. Whether or not you work in a high-stress field, if you’re seeking support with stress or trauma, I may be able to help.
My Background and Approach
I’m a licensed psychologist with over six years of clinical experience, most of which have been in the VA system working with adults from diverse backgrounds. I specialize in trauma-informed, evidence-based care, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, ACT and CBT. I strive to keep my approach goal-oriented and practical without sacrificing genuineness, flexibility, or humor. Clients often describe me as warm and easy to talk to. I aim to create a space where you can be honest without pressure or judgment—especially if you’re someone who’s skeptical about therapy or not used to asking for help. We will work together to identify what you want to achieve in therapy, the tools you need to get there, and how I can support you along the way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy must be grounded in respect for each client’s unique background. As a cis, white, straight man, I know there are limits to how much I can understand from my own experience. That drives me to stay open, avoid assumptions, and create space for people to share who they are. I’ve worked in diverse settings—including VA hospitals where most of my clients were Black, Latino/a/x, or LGBTQ+—and I learned from every one of them. I’ve also worked with Veterans, despite not serving myself, which meant building trust through openness and humility. I deeply respect the desire to find a therapist with shared experience. Whether or not we share those, my goal is always to understand your perspective, earn your trust, and help you feel safe bringing your full self into the room.
