About My Clients
Do you ever feel like you’ve lost the map to your own life? On the outside, does it appear you’ve got it all together, but on the inside, do you feel like you’re coming apart? Does happiness seem elusive? Are you exhausted from the emotional labor of your relationships? Do you struggle to maintain close connections to people? Does it seem like nobody really understands you? Are you feeling so overwhelmed that you just want to numb yourself? Have your coping mechanisms become unhealthy habits?
My Background and Approach
At Solace Counseling Services, I believe the answers lie within, waiting to be uncovered. Drawing upon your inner resilience, I help you discover the full and happy life you deserve. I see therapy as a collaborative process where we help you address challenges to your emotional well-being. Counseling is a safe space where you can be your authentic self, explore your thoughts and feelings, identify patterns and triggers, develop healthy coping mechanisms, improve relationships, and set and achieve goals. * Addictions therapy: Rediscover your strengths, reconnect with your authentic self and find fulfillment in recovery. * Neurodivergent-affirming therapy: Embrace your unique wiring, navigate challenges and find your place in the world. * Relationship therapy: Build a more supportive, amicable environment for everyone, whether in romantic relationships, co-parenting with an ex-partner, men’s issues, parenting children with exceptional needs or during separation or divorce.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I specialize in systems-focused therapy, which views individuals within the context of their relationships and systems. Rather than focusing on just one person, systems-focused therapy sees family and group dynamics as a shared emotional landscape woven through interactions and experiences. You are part of the connected system, influencing everyone else – just as everyone else influences you. By understanding your role within each system, you can develop better communication skills and establish healthy boundaries. That creates positive changes within yourself and your relationships. I am especially interested in how my clients’ spiritual beliefs can aid in the healing process. To the extent that you are comfortable, I integrate spirituality into therapy, which can provide strength, meaning and support on your journey. Most importantly, I seek to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you have permission to be your authentic self.
