I've worked for over a decade within different agencies and organizations providing support to LGBTQ+ folks. Currently, I'm a staff therapist and supervisor at IHI (Institute for Human Identity), where I run a gay men's therapy group. Additionally, I've worked with and supported trans and nonbinary individuals, including exploring emotional experiences and addressing issues around transition. I also have years of experience helping LGBTQ+ and questioning youth, especially in school settings.

Anxiety, and other distressing states like worry, frustration, and depression can be a huge restraining force on our full experience of life and relationships. I'm trained in a mode of treatment (SCT) that integrates somatic and emotional awareness with tested protocols for noticing how our thoughts can often lead to distress and suffering. When we reduce anxiety, and listen to our emotions more clearly, we have more energy to pursue the lives we want!

I'm well trained in psychodynamic and systems-oriented relational therapy. This means that we'll work together to improve your relationships and overall wellbeing, through both exploring the past, and looking with curiosity at your current connections and patterns of communication. We'll be able to learn from the way you and I work and communicate together, trying new behaviors along the way. We'll discover what "old roles" worked in the past, that no longer serve you in the present.

I'm certified in SAVI®, the System for Analyzing Verbal Interaction, which paired with my therapeutic expertise, supports relationships with communication challenges and other problems with intimacy, trust, and collaboration. I use a highly interactive style in our sessions, helping partners notice potentially ineffective behaviors and helping all involved see alternative choices. I work impactfully with all relationship systems, including open, poly, and queer.
