Hello, my name is Jose Mathew, DBH, LCSW, LAC, CCTP

Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado Springs, CO

About My Clients

I work with adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, substance use, relationship stress, life transitions, and emotional burnout. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck in survival mode, emotionally disconnected, or exhausted from carrying too much for too long. Together, we focus on understanding the deeper patterns that drive distress and on building skills to help you feel more regulated, confident, and connected in daily life.

My Background and Approach

My background spans more than a decade in mental health, addiction treatment, trauma recovery, and integrated behavioral healthcare. I use a trauma-informed, whole-person approach that recognizes the connections among mental health, physical health, nervous system regulation, relationships, and environment. My work often integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR-informed interventions, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and somatic strategies tailored to your individual needs. Clients often describe me as calm, direct, compassionate, and easy to talk to. Therapy with me is not about judgment or simply talking in circles — it is about creating meaningful change, strengthening emotional resilience, and helping you move toward a more stable and fulfilling life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Whether you are seeking support for the first time or returning to therapy after previous experiences, you do not have to navigate it alone. I believe healing and growth are possible even when life has felt heavy for a long time, and that you are not defined by your symptoms, your past, or the challenges you’re facing. I also believe meaningful change happens in a grounded, supportive therapeutic space where we can slow down, understand what’s driving distress beneath the surface, and build insight alongside practical tools that support real-life stability and emotional regulation. My role is to walk alongside you in that process, helping you reconnect with your strengths, develop new ways of responding to difficulty, and move toward a life that feels more balanced, intentional, and manageable. I look forward to supporting you on your path.
