About My Clients
Do you feel as if you've been through some challenging things that you just can't overcome? Through every hardship I’ve encountered, I actually pulled through and gained more on the other side. I believe that every stormy season will pass and the sun will shine on. Life changes for the better when you shift from “Why does this keep happening to me?” to “What am I meant to learn from this?” and “How can I grow from this?” My goal is to help you get to the other side of hope.
My Background and Approach
Through some of my greatest adversities and pain, my greatest inner warrior was birthed. From childhood trauma that led to panic attacks and anxiety, codependency, no boundaries and toxic relationships; I was desperate for freedom, release, answers, and hope! I believe that many issues start with our mindset and if our thinking is “stinking thinking”, it can lead to choices and actions that can spiral you into a course of a negative pathway. But on the other hand, with consistent and applied therapeutic work and coping strategies, we can rewire the brain and mindset towards a more positive action and approach. The theories I focus on that support these beliefs are Cognitive Behavior Theory (CBT) and Person Centered. My goal as your counselor is to team up with you as you journey through this thing called life. I hope to help you find your purpose and reason for living. I cannot do all the work for you, but I can guide you, link arms with you and encourage you towards a brighter way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people truly are resilient and can overcome past trauma. Research has shown that the brain rewires itself for survival from negative, traumatic experiences, but I believe we can rewire the brain with the correct therapeutic approach. So essentially, you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. As a child, I suffered from anxiety and panic attacks. Through my own therapy, I learned how to handle my anxiety and move past it so that it didn't have control over me. I haven't had a panic attack in years, and I want you to feel the same freedom that I experience every day.
