About My Clients
It can be profoundly painful to embody an identity that our culture strives to suppress, whether you’re queer, trans, have a larger body, or otherwise do not fit societal expectations. Too often we are pressured to conform ourselves to narrow and ultimately unattainable standards of who we should be and how we should live. Maybe you feel inadequate, ashamed, alone, or even guilty about your body size, the attraction you feel, or what you believe.
My Background and Approach
I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space for LGBTQIA+ folks to safely explore and express their identity, especially clients with religious trauma, as well as clients navigating weight stigma and body image concerns. It is my goal to work with you in a warm, collaborative, and thoughtful manner, adapting to your unique needs. You are worthy of finding genuine connection with others, feeling at home in yourself, and living joyfully just as you are. Counseling can help you foster self-compassion, realize your worth, and empower you to be unapologetically yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a counselor, I believe that relationships are the foundation for change and healing, and not just our relationships with each other, but also with ourselves. When our mind-body connection is disrupted, our connections with others and the world around us are affected as well. Through compassion, empathy, and non-judgment, we can heal these connections.
