About My Clients
You and your partner are having the same argument over again. Maybe the words are different, but the feelings underneath are the same. At the core of conflict is "Are you there for me? Do you really see me?" If this is how you feel, you’re not alone. Many families come to me with this challenge and what they’re struggling with is being understood beneath the surface.
My Background and Approach
I spent my first 7 years in mental health as a Music Therapist, most in the mental health space. I saw how much systems and families impacted individual health, which sparked my desire to become a marriage and family therapist. Since practicing, I have found a particular niche in working with open relationships and/or differing neurotype relationships which often need something different than your "gold-standard" couple therapy approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In relationship-focused therapy, I help you move past the content (who, what, why of conflict) and get to the context (emotions, experiences, and unmet needs) underneath. Together, we slow things down and create a space where each person can really listen and share. In our work, you’ll learn how to recognize your patterns, repair when things go wrong, and reconnect in ways that feel safe. My goal isn’t to change who you are; it’s to help you understand yourself and your partner more fully so you can build a relationship filled with curiosity and intentionality. Particular specialties for couples and family therapy based off of experience include: Poly/open relationships, LGBTQIA+, ADHD and Neurotypical dynamics, co-parenting challenges, and core wounds/attachment struggles from trauma.
