About My Clients
I specialize in working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ teens and adults navigating trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. Beginning therapy is a meaningful decision, and it’s natural to feel both hopeful and uncertain. I strive to create a space where you can feel heard, supported, and respected. When you’re ready, I invite you to reach out and take the next step toward supporting your well-being.
My Background and Approach
I help clients heal, grow, and build resilience. I draw on evidence-based methods—Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, always with a trauma-informed and affirming lens. My specialized work includes providing comprehensive psychoeducation, preparation, and integration for Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). I earned my Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and my Doctor of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Beyond my clinical work, I serve as social work faculty at a national university. My professional journey is enriched by experiences teaching at Morgan State University, a HBCU in Baltimore, and working in harm reduction and youth services. Together, we will work collaboratively to support your journey. I will provide you with evidence-based tools and resources you can immediately use to help achieve your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At the heart of my therapeutic philosophy is a resilience-focused approach that highlights the inner strengths and resources that support healing and well-being. I recognize that personal well-being is inseparable from the social and political context we live in. Alongside clinical practice, I actively engage in research and publish in the scientific literature, ensuring my work remains evidence-based and informed by the most current knowledge. When we work together, you receive a therapist who is not only clinically informed but socially conscious and fully invested in your holistic liberation and well-being.
