Jordan Motta

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a safe, creative, and shame-free space for children, teens, adults and couples who are dealing with anxiety, stress, and trauma, or who are having trouble in their relationships. I help children and adults tell their stories bravely and cultivate an authentic, healthy and meaningful life, free from the pain, fear or shame of the past. I help couples show up with courage in their relationships and communicate, explore patterns, and deepen their understandings of themselves and each other so they can enjoy each other again and build a deeply fulfilling home base. I have an affinity for working with polyamorous couples. What sets me apart from other therapists is advanced training and certification in many evidence-based forms of therapy, including EMDR, TF-CBT, and CPT. I combine a strong relational and cultural framework with treatment models to help people kickstart their recovery and find meaning in their lives and relationships.

I value safe relationships with the people I work with, and treatment that is tailored to each person’s unique needs and stories. You are the best authority on you. I also value fun, creativity and play, so that is a constant in my work. I am someone who has experienced a lot of privilege in my life, and was always aware of this, even at a young age. I struggled with white guilt for a long time until I started pushing past my awkwardness to see and feel what it's truly like to be a member of a marginalized population. Shame about who you are can be so easily internalized and I feel passionate about creating spaces with enough light that you can glimpse the real you that's still there. I work from a beginner's mindset with all individuals, regardless of things like age, gender identity, culture, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.
