About My Clients
I've worked with a wide range of people from different backgrounds, genders, ethnicities, sexualities, and different diagnoses. I've worked with women in substance use treatment, women, men and teens from Tribal communities, domestic violence survivors, trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, LGBTQIA community, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
My Background and Approach
I am an honors graduate from Ferris State University with my Masters in social work. I have worked in Native American Tribal communities for years as a social worker and recently in therapy. I was doing therapy in a women's substance use treatment facility for a year. I currently still do therapy with a wide variety of people. I use a trauma informed lens in all my work . I utilize different theories and modalities that are tailored for your specific needs. I also utilize humor when appropriate and find it to be an important part of many peoples healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a survivor myself and know the courage it takes to ask for help and I take that to guide our first couple sessions of getting to know one another and build a therapeutic relationship. I am a cis gender, pansexual, woman, that is an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. I'm a huge advocate for all human rights and believe our world right now is taking a toll on everyone and I want to be a safe place to work through these things. I have worked a lot with in suicide awareness and prevention. Working with the unhoused community has also been important work I have done over the years.
