About My Clients
My clients are often described as sensitive by family and friends. They know they have big reactions, and they don’t always understand them. They often feel stuck – unable to do the things they want or need to do. They are falling behind in school and hobbies, losing friendships, and sometimes fighting with their parents. They often do not feel understood by the most important people in their lives.
My Background and Approach
My approach combines warmth and authenticity with concrete skills-learning and implementation. Clients come to me because they want to make changes in their lives. I provide them with the tools necessary to make these changes possible. I see my clients as people, not problems. It is important for me to get to know my clients as individuals, so that we can craft the most effective treatment plan together. My clients trust that I will lovingly push them outside of their comfort zones in service of their goals. They also trust that we will laugh together in most sessions, and that my office will be a space in which they can share their most difficult experiences, emotions, and fears. My goal is to create a space where all of my clients can be honest without fear of judgment. Above all, my approach is collaborative: I meet my clients where they are, and we work together to get them where they want to be.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My goal is to build confidence, self-acceptance, and self-validation, while facilitating measurable progress towards therapeutic goals. We build a treatment plan together, so that clients feel understood and exercise agency over their personal growth. Many clients want to work with a clinician who is both knowledgeable and affirming of their identities. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed working with clients from a wide range of cultural and religious backgrounds, as well as sexual and gender identities. I look forward to learning about all aspects of each of my clients’ backgrounds.
