About My Clients
With experience in juvenile residential placements, involving the legal systems, I have counseled individuals, groups and families. I use an approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to offer a wide variety of treatment, all focused on a more positive and supported mental wellbeing. With my experience in many different fields and populations, I have helped counsel individuals through a wide array of different experiences.
My Background and Approach
My background lies most recently with the juvenile residential systems, I found a passion in working with teenagers, especially those with behavioral and mental health issues. I have found it most humbling to work with those who do not want to engage in therapy, as change is something no therapist can impose. This feeds into my approach with general individuals, to meet the client where they are at. Therapy is a very important and confidential time, and you should have a right to build what that looks like. My job is to act as a guide through questions to best find your happy and healthy self. Through my combined skills and education, and a client's engagement, however that may be achieved, I hope to grow your skills to find your mental wellbeing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Honesty builds the best relationships. Be it at home, in therapy, or at work, when we function with a humble amount of honesty, we tend to seek acceptance. With prior involvement in the criminal side of juvenile care, services for those in impoverished and challenged areas are a strong personal belief in the goal to rehabilitate and prevent young legal involvement. I advocate for young people especially boys, to be offered the right services and support needed to become well rounded and independent young men.
