About My Clients
I work with people from all walks of life who are looking to address challenges in their internal, relational and systemic worlds. I support people who experience the symptoms of trauma, anxiety, OCD and depression. I also work with people looking to expand themselves (such as in confidence or sports performance) and in their relationships.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in Brainspotting and have 7+ years of working with people experiencing trauma and emotional dysregulation. People are often surprised by how much better they feel and how much progress they have made in hindsight. For issues related to family and partners, I will often utilize Bowan's Family Systems, emphasizing differentiation of self. I will utilize CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) as a complimentary therapy to help establish tools for managing emotions, critical voices and reactions to triggers. I believe in setting up a strategy together with each person and in keeping each person in the driver's seat. Every therapy I use yields to the individuality and authority of the person I work with as I offer guidance. Other effective therapies I use include: Internal Family Systems, Exposure and Response Prevention, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered therapy, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Focusing and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person is doing their best, with a unique set of strengths and challenges, to live their best life. Because of this, I work with people to craft their specific way of doing therapy. I believe everyone is inherently equal, and as such, I am equally invested in helping all people on their journey. I like to protect my people and have fun in the session, but what is appropriate depends on what you are experiencing. I'm currently on staff at LynLake Centers for Wellbeing and typically see folks virtually (telehealth only) in the afternoons and early evenings.
