About My Clients
You are the expert on your history, family and experience. I can offer you my experience and training as a clinician to explore the challenges you face. Together we will identify the strengths you already have, the internal and external factors that are negatively impacting you, and develop strategies for you to succeed moving forward.
My Background and Approach
I have worked with individuals in many settings and have been honored to be part of their journeys. I have worked in higher education, medical, shelter, and community-based settings. I have extensive experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence. I have done training in Acceptance Commitment therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Intervening. Presently my practice focuses on supporting individuals and couples with issues related to sexuality. This can include topics such as desire discrepancy, intimacy, sexual dysfunction, and exploration of sexual identity. I recently completed the Sex Therapy and Sexual Health Education, Sexual Health Certificate program at the University of Michigan. I am currently training in the Developmental model of couples counseling through The Couples Institute I will bring all that I have learned in my work and training to our partnership.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My practice is firmly rooted in the core values of the social work profession: service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. These values guide my work with clients and my continued dedication to learning to ensure I am providing quality care.
