About My Clients
My clientele tends to be adults in their 20's, 30's, and 40's, who are processing and healing from past trauma. I have done extensive research and specialize in work with the affectional identity community (LGB+) and am an avid trans ally. Additionally, my clientele often needs the support working through every day life stressors and varies with their mental health needs, often experiencing anything from anxiety to varying mood disorders.
My Background and Approach
I graduated with my Masters of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University where I gained experience utilizing Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Since graduating, I have gained additional experience utilizing Trauma Focused-CBT. Most of my experience has been working with adult individuals and couples. It is my hope that my clients feel supported all of the time and challenged sometimes during our work together. I strive to create a safe space where my clients can process past traumas, challenge current unhelpful thinking patterns, and learn to love and accept themselves as they are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an adamant believer of the good in human beings. I believe that in order to be the best clinician I can be, I need to be advocating for my client's needs in and out of the therapy room. Because of this, I pride myself in not only being a part of the queer community myself, but also being an avid trans ally as well as sex positive and socially just-minded when it comes to race, ethnicity, affectional identity, gender identity and expression, and socio-economic status.
