About My Clients
I work with individuals facing a variety of obstacles, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, guilt, shame, grief, and stress around creativity and performance. I specialize in supporting individuals experiencing infertility, and help men in particular navigate the emotional and relationship issues that surface during the challenges of infertility and family building. I am dedicated to creating a warm and accepting space where you will feel comfortable, safe, and heard.
My Background and Approach
My work is relational and trauma-informed. A relational approach involves understanding how the quality of your relationships shape your inner world. We will talk about what has and is happening in your life and how it effects what comes up in our sessions. A trauma-informed approach involves establishing safety in our relationship, providing psychoeducation on bodily responses to trauma, and understanding symptoms as adaptations to threatening environments. I will help you make meaning of your inner world, your relationships, and your life experiences. We will explore how your unique narrative serves you and how or if it acts as a barrier to thoughts, feelings, and experiences that are difficult but essential to your personal growth and happiness. I believe that therapy is more than cultivating insight, and is also about transforming how you feel, and how you relate to and understand yourself and others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I also specialize in LGBTQ issues, multicultural issues, and identity issues. I practice humility in my work by offering a collaborative framework with clients that is multicultural, flexible and context responsive. I value client input and believe that what clients contribute to the work is necessary in the therapy process. There are many reasons we pursue therapy. Regardless of where you are, I welcome the opportunity to meet you there with warmth, compassion, and respect.
