About My Clients
I primarily work with the LGBTQ+ community. As a cisgender, gay man, I know the issues our community faces. My clients typically are working through anxiety, depression, trauma, identity themes, relational struggles and lessening intellectualizing of emotions.
My Background and Approach
I have a varied career background before I became a therapist, which includes the performing arts and design. This lived experience helps clients feel more seen and not have to give so much background information when discussing stressors and triggers. I believe therapy should be individualized, so although I have my preferred way of working, together we can explore what this space needs to be for you. I primarily work through a relational and experiential lens. That means that I believe healing can occur through the relationship between client and therapist. While the past informs us, I bring attention to what is coming up in session, which allows for the client to create more self-awareness. I have taken AEDP courses and am EMDR trained. I also utilize psychodynamic theory and CBT techniques, depending on the client's desired goals for therapy.
