About My Clients
My clients are diverse, and every one faces completely unique experiences, issues and challenges. I feel my approach is best suited for clients who are motivated and curious to explore their distinctive ways of being in the world, paying attention to patterns, obstacles, and the history that contributes to the present self.
My Background and Approach
I provide individual outpatient psychotherapy rooted in psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, and existential theory. The pace and length of therapy is generally set by the client, and I am wary of approaches that seek to expedite treatment at the expense of the therapeutic relationship and depth of exploration. I have trained with the Existential-Humanistic Institute based in the Bay Area of California, as well as with the Institute for Existential-Psychoanalytic Therapy in the Boston area. I am a member of the New England Center for Existential Therapy and the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Personal beliefs that inform my practice include sex-positive, gender-affirming non-exclusionary radical feminism and anti-capitalism. I am religiously agnostic but I have a deep respect for and fascination with the religious experience.
