About My Clients
I have felt a certain pull in my heart towards working with men in therapy. Men are far less likely to seek therapy and if I can help bridge that gap I will! I understand many of the pressures and struggles associated with being a man in our society. I also know that navigating emotion can be tricky especially when societal standards only deem some as "okay" for men.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy through an integrative lens. I believe every client is different and every issue unique. "One size fits all" rarely works in a therapy setting. That being said I do incorporate certain approaches more than others. These would include CBT, existentialism, person-centered, positive psychology, solution focused, and strengths base counseling. With these approaches we can figure out what is at the root of the problem and find a route forward together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have long held the belief that a person can always find meaning regardless of the time or situation. There is a quote that says, "He who has a why can survive any how." That search for meaning is the driving force behind my work. Life will always have struggles and if we can learn to manage and overcome them, we can thrive! I tend to be pretty straight forward and to the point. There's no reason to waste your time. Whatever you want to work on, we will work on. Essentially I want to work myself out of a job and give you the awareness, knowledge, and tools to succeed. There are many routes forward that a person can take, and sometimes we just need a little help on the path.
