My Background and Approach
“If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves.” I love this quote so much because I believe that all people are created with an amazing ability to build a life that is meaningful to them. One impactful experience that has made me a better counselor was the opportunity to live in a ministry house in downtown Fresno after college. It was called the Pink House, and I lived life with ten other people from around the world, from Congo to Malaysia to Kansas, for one year. This broadened my understanding of different cultures and perspectives. These friends taught me so much and I have gained an appreciation for values beyond my personal worldview, and a sensitivity in connecting with people who see the world differently than I do. My clients experience dignity, respect, and autonomy in our sessions as I work to understand your needs more deeply and tailor our work to find the most helpful path forward for you.
