About My Clients

My clients are those who are fed up with how live is currently being lived and ready to embark on their journey of change, even while knowing it may be hard. My clients have identities rooted in marginalized populations who have been rendered silent and invisible, on a search for their voice in their everyday lives. While they may be afraid, they are ready to be unafraid, ready to work with me to face fears, get uncomfortable, and take up space to grow and heal.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, licensed and based in NC. I collaborate with my clients to find their entry point toward change through a personalized blend of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while being person-centered, culturally competent, trauma focused, and strength based. My work typically focuses on anxiety, depression, stress, self-care, and life adjustments. My work also includes Borderline Personality Disorder, mood disorders, trauma- and stress- related disorders, as well as those who face challenges with pervasive emotional dysregulation. I am focused on working with you to build your own personal mental scrapbook. In this, you will find all the times that you have applied tools taught in session, experiences that have challenged you from which you have emerged, and your new perspective of your past with space to write your future.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Life has an interesting way of putting us in places and spaces that both challenge and change us in ways unimaginable, seemingly out of our control. I believe that everyone is capable, despite when they discover that they are able. It is never too late to work on it, as quality of life is always at the focus. We all have a past that impacts our self-perception. I believe that we have the capacity to unlearn maladaptive behaviors of our past to enrich our present and cultivate our future. I was bullied throughout my childhood into my teen years, marred by anxiety, depression, body image issues, and issues with self-esteem. These manifested in a myriad of ways into adulthood that I've worked on in my own therapy through which I have learned that I have to make the active choice to make change at whatever entry point I can, be it emotions, thoughts, or behaviors. I want to impart to you that the answer does lie within and it can be discovered through your own personal work.
