About My Clients
I work with teens, adults, and their families. Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, or both, seeking a therapist who will affirm and understand their lived experience. Others come to me after feeling pathologized or dismissed elsewhere, looking for a space that validates their challenges while helping them move toward empowerment.
My Background and Approach
I came to therapy almost by accident. One decision led to another, and my curiosity and relational nature carried me into this work. Along the way, I’ve supported children in the aftermath of trauma, walked with college students as they found their independence, and facilitated long-term groups with older adults. I’ve worked with service members navigating identity and substance use, and with teens, adults, and families facing a range of challenges. What keeps me engaged is the power of therapeutic relationships to heal and help people become more fully themselves. Clients often tell me they value my practicality, warmth, and ability to involve parents, partners, or other supports when it strengthens treatment. I bring depth and presence to each session, with the goal of helping clients feel empowered and connected.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be an affirming, collaborative space where your story, identity, and strengths are at the center. I see you as the expert of your life, and I approach our work with curiosity, respect, and compassion. My values are grounded in inclusivity and cultural humility: I recognize that what we call “symptoms” are often natural responses to trauma, systemic oppression, or environments that don’t fit your needs. Therapy with me isn’t about forcing you into a mold. It’s about exploring patterns, honoring your unique wiring, and finding ways of living that align with your values. I hope clients leave sessions feeling more integrated, connected, and engaged with themselves, others, and the world. Outside of therapy, I recharge by listening to podcasts and audiobooks, playing games with my brother, talking politics with my mom, and spending time on the porch nature and people watching with my dog.
