About My Clients
I work with adults, from all backgrounds and ages. They usually are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues with partners/kids/parents, addictions, trauma. I see most in individual weekly therapy and some in my psychotherapy groups and some in both. Many take medications for anxiety and depression and most find those helpful. Many have trauma from recent or long ago abuse or conflicts.
My Background and Approach
I see clients usually once per week although it could be more or less frequently as needed. We build a relationship and they usually grow steadily over several weeks and months. They usually come to greatly value having a safe place to explore their life. Often they get in touch with pain from childhood and parental relationships that are playing out in the present. I use a variety of therapy approaches based on what the client needs in each stage of our work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each person has a richness and beauty that comes from their unique life experience. I try to explore and understand each person's background, values and heritage. I believe we each have an inner life force or energy trying to flower in us and heal us. If a person feels safe and valued this healing energy inside us can help us to grow. In therapy I try to create a relationship in which that healing energy can blossom.
