About My Clients
I work with adults — especially within the LGBTQ+ community — who are navigating the intersection of identity, spirituality, and authenticity. Many of my clients grew up in faith traditions that left them questioning whether they could be both queer and spiritual, and they're looking for a space to untangle that conflict without judgment. I also support clients facing anxiety, depression, and life transitions, particularly those for whom identity or spiritual questioning is part of the picture.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (KS) and Licensed Professional Counselor (MO) with over 9 years of clinical experience. I hold a Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Oregon State University and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Evangel University. As a queer person, I've navigated the complexity of reconciling identity, spirituality, and authenticity firsthand — and that experience profoundly shapes how I show up for clients. I know what it's like to hold parts of yourself in separate compartments, waiting for permission to be whole. My approach draws on person-centered therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, and mindfulness-based interventions. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all process — I meet each client where they are, with curiosity rather than assumptions, and I work collaboratively to help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been silenced or pushed aside.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an LGBTQ+-affirming therapist. I believe that being queer and being spiritual are not mutually exclusive — you don't have to choose one over the other, and you don't have to leave parts of yourself behind to be whole. My own life has included navigating the intersection of identity and spirituality, and I bring deep respect for wherever a client lands in that process — whether that's reclaiming faith, redefining it, or stepping away from it entirely. I won't bring an agenda into our work together. My role isn't to tell you what to believe or who to be - it's to help you explore these questions with curiosity, free from judgment, so you can land in a place that feels authentically yours.
