About My Clients
I work with a variety of ages and people on a variety of issues. MY approach sometimes supports those who have found other types of therapy unsuccessful. Some people do "talk therapy" and I do "do therapy." Together we will foster curiosity and empowerment to make bold changes in your life.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master's at the University of Vermont where I studied a variety of therapeutic interventions. During my internship at Champlain College (where I worked with college aged students) I became interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Since then, I've studied Clinical Relational Frame Theory and how to apply ACT for multiple human struggles. I also helped start Two Roads Academy, a therapeutic day school, where I helped train and supervise the behavior interventionists. I have a strong spiritual background a yoga practitioner and student of Buddha. I don't always bring this into my practice, but for some seeking more spiritual counseling, I draw from my knowledge of Eastern and Western spiritual philosophies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are all capable of dramatic change. It's difficult with pressures from school, work, and society to sometimes do the slow, intentional, internal work needed to understand ourselves on deeper levels. I believe that therapy is a space we carve out to do that exploration.
