About My Clients
Hi, I'm Lincoln. I appreciate that you reading this is a reflection of your own curiosity and showing up for yourself! It’s also a wonderful sign of your care for yourself. Life’s a journey with an infinite amount of paths. Though we can’t have full control over our experience, the gift of awareness brought about by personal exploration reveals new choices.
My Background and Approach
I have trained in both professional mental health counseling and marriage couples family therapy. My graduate work rests on 20 years of previous clinical experience. I work from an experiential, somatic (body-based), emotionally focused, attachment, mindfulness-based, and compassion focused orientations. My approach is holistic, relational, multiculturally-oriented, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I seek to meet you with empathy, non judgment, and welcome to all identities. My aim is to support your natural capacities, as you grow beyond limitations towards self-acceptance, health, and connection. During our time together, I am interested in how to aid you in developing resources of awareness, embodiment, creativity, resilience, and self-compassion to transform moments of challenge towards greater ease and life satisfaction.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is a collaborative process, and I look forward to working with you toward decreasing negative symptoms and achieving your goals. Our work together is an opportunity to shift from the scripts and habit patterns of your past and outmoded ways of responding and more fully enter the present moment with clarity, belief in yourself, and strength to act. It will likely also allow you to refine your values and confirm your direction. Ultimately, our work together can decrease your stress, cultivate a more comfortable relationship with yourself and others, and overall lead to more possibilities and self-empowerment. Our time together has the potential to support the natural re-organization of our thoughts, feelings, and physical experience.
