The majority of my professional experiences have been in addictions treatment centers, doing trauma therapy, and couple's therapy. When working with trauma, I use EMDR, which utilizes bilateral stimulation or eye movements to desensitize the person to traumatic experiences. It is a highly effective treatment and research based. My Background and Approach
I believe that everyone deserves to be free from the past. One’s past should not keep them from having the life they desire. Our experiences can keep us from connecting with our loved ones and cause us crippling depression and anxiety. A large portion of what keeps us stuck in our depression and anxiety is shame. Shame is the belief that there is something wrong with you, and that you are not good enough. It is the single greatest motivator for self-destructive behavior. My goal for my clients, whether with individuals or couples, is to reduce or eliminate the role shame plays in your life. Once you stop hating yourself, once you actually like who you are and believe you’re enough as you are, you are better able to deal with the challenges of life.
