About My Clients
I work with clients with many types of difficulties from depression/anxiety to relationship issues and adjusting to life changes such as serious medical conditions, aging, grief, etc. I am especially skilled in working with those who struggle to connect with others and are struggling with low quality relationships, loneliness, isolation, as well as perfectionism and difficulty experiencing or expressing emotions.
My Background and Approach
I have 3 psychology degrees (AA, BA, MS) which includes a Masters in Health Psychology. This enables me to understand and help with mind-body issues such as dealing with physical illness, stress management, and understanding the relationship between mental/physical health. I also have a doctoral degree in Community Care & Counseling which equips me to counsel individuals, couples, and families with a host of concerns. I work from a warm, collaborative, empowering, and structured approach that is tailored to your specific needs. Together we will create a detailed plan for our work together and measure your results along the way to ensure we are making the most of your investment in therapy. I work for a safe place for you to be real while also gaining strength for taking action that will move you towards your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Christian with advanced training/experience integrating matters of Christian faith into treatment for clients who are open to that, though members of all faiths/no faith are welcome. In addition to the other clients noted in my profile, I am especially called to work with those who feel lost, broken, forgotten, damaged, isolated, hopeless, or helpless. In short, I aim to ease or eliminate suffering wherever possible.
