I see adults, couples and teens. Highly experienced in couples work, substance abuse and trauma. One of only 3 certified Gottman Method Couples therapists residing in the state. Also, certified in Discernment Therapy a special method for couples where one partner is trying to decide whether to even participate in therapy. I am trained in trauma treatment methods including emdr, brainspotting and hypnosis as well as CBT. I use proven methods because your welfare comes first (see Google reviews).
My Background and Approach
Feeling distant or stuck in your relationship? Maybe trust has been broken, or every conversation seems to turn into an argument. Even once-loving couples can start living like polite roommates—hurt, lonely, and unsure how to reconnect. I’m one of only a few therapists in Tennessee certified in the Gottman Method for couples therapy—a research-based approach that helps most couples rebuild closeness and communication. My office provides a safe, structured, and encouraging space where both partners feel heard and respected. Many of the couples I see come after discouraging or unproductive therapy experiences. Using clear, evidence-based steps—not guesswork—we work to restore trust, reduce conflict, and rebuild friendship and intimacy. If one partner feels unsure about staying in the relationship, I offer Discernment Counseling to bring clarity and confidence to your next steps. Services include weekly sessions and private intensives (multi-hour or multi-day) for couples, and singles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I think it is critical to treat people ethically and that means using proven science-based methods in therapy and providing each client opportunites to choose treatment after understanding the benefits and limitations of each approach. I don't discriminate against anyone. I am committed to upholding human rights in all my work and to striving to make the world a better place for us all.
