About My Clients
Living with OCD or anxiety is exhausting and overwhelming. Many clients have already tried therapy in the past and felt discouraged when it didn’t make a real difference. This is often because OCD—and certain anxiety disorders—require a therapist who truly understands how these problems work. Unfortunately, some approaches can even make symptoms worse. The good news is that there are highly effective, evidence-based treatments that can help you reclaim your life and move forward with confidence.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in exposure and response prevention (ERP) and other evidence-based treatments for OCD and anxiety disorders. I named my practice “Leap” because I see therapy as a leap of faith—each step toward facing fear is also a step toward freedom. My own experience with OCD taught me that uncertainty isn’t something to eliminate but something to embrace, and I bring that understanding to my work with clients. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Northern Illinois University and completed my doctoral internship at Rogers Behavioral Health. I have experience supervising clinical staff at a residential OCD and anxiety program and am a PSYPACT-authorized psychologist. I also serve on the Faith and OCD Action Council with the International OCD Foundation. I have published research on OCD/anxiety and have presented on OCD in various professional settings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a clinician, I believe in the importance of diversity and equity. I am always seeking to expand my knowledge on how to best create a space where all clients can feel heard and accepted. I accept clients of all genders, sexual orientations, race/ethnicities, faiths, and backgrounds.
