About My Clients
My clients are across the lifespan, and often exploring gender and sexual identity, religious and spiritual identity, and neurodivergence. genuinely curious about deeper understandings of themselves and how they move in the world. I enjoy working with creative thinkers, folks who enjoy challenging themselves, and creating their own visions/move against the grain. I also enjoy working with athletes and folks who are curious about the connection between physical and mental health.
My Background and Approach
I strive to offer a curious, open, and gentle approach to therapy. I approach therapy understanding that we cannot fully separate historical, structural power structures from our mental and physical health. My work is grounded in a number of therapy approaches. I care deeply about the impacts of historical structural power, questioning dominant discourses and stories, how you make meaning of your stories, enriching stories we tell ourselves, and journeying with you towards your preferred ways of living. I work from Narrative, Feminist, Psychodynamic, and Relational approaches, primarily.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that oppression and historical power structures are often directly connected to many forms of resilience, struggle, and suffering. It is important that we hold relational-cultural-identity contexts when thinking about how to best support your mental health. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and welcome critiques of all systems that have tried to tell you otherwise. I also believe that having a strong community of support (friends, chosen family, etc.), with whom you can feel seen is invaluable.
