About My Clients

Are you finding yourself less connected to others lately? Does anxiety keep you stewing instead of doing? I love working with creative people that are stuck in cycles that were once helpful but are now problematic. I enjoy seeing folks moving through major life transitions from relationships to identity growth. I work with many in creative fields that have lost the “spark” as well as helping folks navigate life transitions with fresh perspective whether that be jobs, relationships, college...

My Background and Approach

Most folks seek out a therapist when whatever they’ve been doing to cope isn’t working any more. This could be learned behaviors or stale coping tools. Having had a long term relationship with anxiety myself, I'm well versed in how our minds can sway us into overly-protective bubbles. Coping tools are great, and we all need them, but we also need longer term strategies and maintenance tools to keep it at bay long enough to instill new habits. I incorporate ACT, CBT, and Adlerian styles to help set bite-sized goals based in curiosity. I ask that you're willing to think outside the box and try some new suggestions that might involve: tapping into your artistic expression, play therapy (even for adults), creating character narratives of yourself, world building, and community involvement, etc. Please bring self-accountability and a willingness to try on some different perspectives. Let's get you closer to joy and living in a way you can have a more active roll in your own outcomes.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe being outdoors is therapeutic. When I’m not working I’m gardening, tending to the many animal friends that live with me, and staying playful! Art is a huge part of my existence; so much so that I have a side gig that is all about creating joy through character illustration. Nobody is ever too old to play - Lego, paint, games, knock knock jokes… we need them because our imaginations are one of the more powerful gifts we have as humans! I originally became a therapist to utilize art therapy techniques with teens. This has evolved into adding other modalities while still reiterating how important it is to find opportunities for creativity, contentment, and gratitude in our everyday routines. I believe a lot of this work is creative in its nature as flexibility and problem solving is part of every session in some way. I don’t use insurances for privacy reasons. However, all clients receive the option of a generous sliding scale.
