About My Clients
I provide safe and compassionate therapy services for clients struggling with mental health, AODA, relationship, family, sexuality, and communication issues. My specialty areas include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance abuse, effective communication, conflict resolution, and sex/intimacy. I most enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families on mental health, communication, conflict resolution, and intimacy issues. I work with clients aged 18+.
My Background and Approach
I entered the field of marriage and family therapy late in life when I discovered that I had both a passion and a natural gift for this kind of systemic therapy. I love helping people gain control of their lives and find solutions for problems. It's been a remarkably fulfilling career change. I graduated at the top of my class from the clinical MFT Masters program at Edgewood College after completing my 12-month internship at Journey Mental Health Center (Madison, WI), providing counseling to diverse and often underserved individuals and families. I launched my private practice, Palm Tree Family Therapy LLC, on May 1, 2020. I use systemic approaches, including Structural, Strategic, Solution-Focused, Narrative, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a social justice advocate and ally for underserved populations. I am compassionate and open minded. I believe all behavior serves a purpose and my goal is to help clients find healthy ways to identify and achieve their purpose.
