I have extensive experience working with individuals experiencing depression, including those whose symptoms are intertwined with substance use, anxiety, trauma, or major life transitions. I understand that depression can show up as sadness, numbness, loss of motivation, fatigue, hopelessness, or feeling disconnected from oneself and others. I focus on helping clients understand the underlying factors contributing to their depression while developing practical, manageable steps toward change.

I have extensive experience working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, particularly when it co-occurs with substance use, life stressors, or major transitions. I understand how anxiety can show up in many forms—constant worry, panic, restlessness, difficulty sleeping, racing thoughts, or a persistent sense of being overwhelmed. The goal is not just symptom reduction, but helping clients feel more grounded, capable, and present in their lives.

My expertise allows me to provide both structure and flexibility—offering evidence-informed guidance while adapting care to each individual’s unique needs. I focus on building practical coping skills, increasing self-awareness, and supporting clients in creating realistic, sustainable recovery plans that align with their values and goals.

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a practical, supportive tool to help individuals better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—especially as it relates to substance use, anxiety, and depression. CBT allows us to slow things down and look at what is happening in real time, rather than focusing on blame or past mistakes.

In my practice, I approach addiction counseling with the understanding that substance use is often a way of coping with pain, stress, or unmet needs—not a personal failure. My work is rooted in compassion, respect, and meeting clients where they are, regardless of where they are in their recovery journey. I help individuals explore the underlying factors contributing to their substance use, including emotional patterns, life stressors, trauma, anxiety, and depression.

In my practice, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help individuals develop a healthier relationship with their thoughts, emotions, and experiences—rather than feeling controlled by them. ACT is especially helpful for people struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, or persistent self-criticism, where efforts to avoid or control uncomfortable feelings often lead to more distress.
