About My Clients

I currently work online with adults (18 and older) struggling Trauma and Complex Trauma, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Anxiety Disorders, Panic and Panic Attack Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, and Mood and Depressive Disorders. I also provide counseling to assist with Self-Esteem/Self-Love, Attachment Issues/Codependency, Relationship Challenges (family, friends, co-workers), Communication Problems and Life Purpose and Spirituality issues.

My Background and Approach

My therapy approach utilizes both modern and postmodern therapies. I take an eclectic approach to the therapeutic relationship and tailor all therapy interactions with you and your context in mind. I integrate the knowledge, values, and skills of my experience and expertise with a therapeutic style of warmth, nonjudgement, and empathy as I join you on your journey in therapy. My therapy style is collaborative and conversational. You are the expert on your own life and I believe it is an honor to traverse alongside you on your journey towards healing, learning, adapting, and growing. I am also a college professor and like to make therapy educational and informational when appropriate. As we voyage together in therapy, I work to understand you and your primary concerns and goals and work with you to courageously look inward, utilize best practices, and support changes that contribute to your overall mental health and well-being.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe mental health is a basic part of our overall wellness. We are all human beings doing the best we can with what we have at any given time. We are all different in various ways and I do not discriminate against anyone! Our similarities outweigh our differences if one looks close enough. I am a great-grandchild of immigrants, a first-generation college graduate, and the product of the dreams of my ancestors. I value hard work and grit and know full well that we all don't start at the same line or have the same experiences, resources, connections, or opportunities. Mental health is a journey and I am passionate about helping others on theirs. Personally, I love being with my family. I also enjoy creating art, listening to music, walking, and hiking. And I volunteer in my local community helping others. I believe we are created with intentionality and spirituality is a big part of my life. I am very introspective and every day is an opportunity to learn and grow!
