Starting with your body and teaching it to be calm begins the journey of trauma processing and healing. I'm not a spectator. I don't want stories first - I want you to learn that you can be safe from the past. Some people need space and time to talk about the experiences that have pushed them to a state of numbness or hypervigilance or any of the myriad ways trauma changes how they live and think and feel. No judgment. No hurry. Agency is yours.
I use a bottom-up approach to help you notice where your trauma lives in your body. Noticing what you experience in your body and teaching yourself to accept and then change those somatic experiences is a vital step in processing trauma.
In short, we often live our lives based in past experiences or fears of the future. In between those places is LIFE. Mindfulness helps you learn to live in and experience the present. It matters.
