About My Clients
The people I work with are often navigating experiences that feel overwhelming, isolating, or life-altering. Many are veterans or family members of veterans who carry the visible and invisible impacts of service. Some are living with chronic, progressive, or terminal illness, while others are caregivers or loved ones supporting someone they care deeply about. Many are grieving—whether from the loss of a person, a previous version of themselves, health, certainty, or a future they expected.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed, trauma-informed therapist offering supportive, client-centered care for adults and children navigating chronic or terminal illness, medical trauma, grief, caregiving stress, and major life transitions. I also work with veterans and family members impacted by military service. My approach is relational, collaborative, and paced to your needs. I draw from trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based strategies, and strengths-focused therapy, with attention to nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and meaning-making. I prioritize creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and not pressured to “fix” or rush your experience. I specialize in supporting individuals living with ongoing uncertainty, loss, and change—including anticipatory grief and identity shifts related to illness or caregiving. Therapy with me is grounded, compassionate, and focused on building resilience, self-compassion, and steadiness, even when circumstances cannot be changed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy works best when it is rooted in safety, trust, and genuine human connection. I believe your experiences make sense in the context of what you’ve lived through, and that healing is not about fixing what is “wrong,” but about learning how to live with greater compassion, steadiness, and meaning—especially in the face of illness, loss, or uncertainty. I believe there is no single “right” way to grieve, cope, or heal, and that honoring your pace matters. I value curiosity over judgment, presence over pressure, and hope that is honest and grounded rather than forced. Even when circumstances cannot be changed, I believe growth, connection, and moments of peace are still possible. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my practice. Reaching out for support is a meaningful step, and I’m honored to be considered as part of your journey.
