About My Clients
I will often start the session by asking the question, "What brings you here today?". Each session may look different depending on the needs of the client. You can expect me to inquire what type of learner you are. We will establish goals and check in along the way, ensuring that you are getting the most out of your sessions. My goal is to empower my clients to be an active decision-makers in their mental well-being. We will collaborate, every step of the way.
My Background and Approach
I received my Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I began my professional career as an ER nurse. My treatment specialties include therapy, women's health, depression, anxiety, complex trauma, personality disorders, and ADD/ADHD. My approach can be described as holistic and client-centered. As a family nurse practitioner, I often detect metabolic issues affecting mental illnesses and pull from my various backgrounds to treat my patients. I also believe not one size fits all, and my approach to medication management is less is more. I typically work with my patients to come up with the best treatment plan, and use adjunctive therapy that is practical and solution-focused.
