About My Clients
My clients are adults who suffer from a wide range of clinical presentations. I enjoy working with both individuals and couples.
My Background and Approach
I can describe my approach to therapy as one that is collaborative, eclectic, and individualized to the needs of my patients. I conceptualize my cases through a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic lens; however, I integrate other therapeutic approaches into my work depending on the individual needs of my clients, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and other evidence-based and third-wave approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the therapeutic alliance accounts for a large percentage of positive clinical outcomes, and building a safe and trusting relationship with my patients is a primary aim of my work. Within the relationship, we may explore thoughts, emotions, dreams, fantasies, fears and desires. By processing cognitive and emotional material, we may begin to recognize our conscious and unconscious patterns and dynamics, thereby gaining insight and ultimately improvements in relationships with self and others.
