About My Clients
I specialize in working with adults who are navigating the complex challenges of trauma, substance use, co-occurring mental health issues, and the impacts of involvement with the justice system. Many of my clients are facing serious mental health conditions, such as bipolar disorder or psychosis, or seeking to understand recurring patterns in their lives, manage symptoms, strengthen their recovery, or make meaningful changes amid real-life pressures.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and former attorney. I have experience working with clients in outpatient substance use, community mental health, crisis stabilization, and criminal justice settings. I offer in-person therapy sessions in Atlanta and telehealth sessions for clients throughout Georgia and South Carolina. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, ensuring that we work together at a pace that respects your individual priorities. I utilize techniques from CBT, DBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy to help you recognize patterns and develop effective coping strategies. I believe therapy works best when you feel respected, understood, and involved in your care. My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed. We’ll move at a pace that feels right, explore your experiences and strengths, and work toward changes that matter to you, with practical tools, honest reflection, and room for curiosity and humor.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a former attorney with 15 years of legal experience, I have witnessed the connections between trauma, addiction, mental health issues, and the legal system. This insight motivated me to transition into clinical social work, where I am dedicated to helping individuals heal, find stability, and embrace a hopeful future. I believe that individuals are more than just their diagnoses, challenging phases, or involvement with substance use or the legal system. I value honesty, compassion, curiosity, and the potential for change, even after setbacks. My clients describe me as genuine, straightforward, and committed to understanding their needs. They appreciate my ability to communicate openly and honestly, which helps us build strong, trusting relationships. I listen carefully, ask questions that help them make sense of their experiences, and offer support without judgment.
