My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a first-generation Korean American, I understand the complexities of navigating multiple cultural identities and the unique challenges that come with balancing personal aspirations, family expectations, and societal pressures. My lived experiences have shaped my passion for creating safe, affirming spaces where individuals from diverse backgrounds can explore their identities, process their emotions, and reclaim their narratives. I am deeply committed to mental health advocacy, particularly within communities of color, where stigma around seeking therapy often persists. I believe that healing should be accessible, inclusive, and culturally responsive, and I strive to provide therapy that honors each client’s lived experiences. Therapy should be a collaborative, nonjudgmental process that allows clients to explore their emotions without fear of invalidation. I believe in meeting clients where they are, honoring their unique stories, and helping them rewrite limiting beliefs.
