About My Clients
Are you struggling in your parenting journey - to create and grow your family, to parent and define what your journey as a parent looks like? I know that this journey, while it can be amazing, rewarding and fulfilling, can also be difficult, triggering, lonely and yes, traumatic. As a parent therapist and coach, my mission is to help parents define their unique journey as a parent, and support them as they create a rich and fulfilling family life.
My Background and Approach
I have worked as a social worker and a therapist for nearly 20 years, and my focus has been primarily with women and families, in all stages of life and development. Using a blend of coaching and therapy, I have helped women to define what it means, for them, to become and be a parent, while also embracing the fact that they, as human beings too, get to be included in the conversation. We can explore the fertility journey and birth trauma to find healing, strength and conviction to create their own unique journey to grow their family. We can explore parenting challenges and using therapeutic principles create parenting strategies that work for your family. We can define what it means, to you, to be a parent... a definition that includes space for you to be a whole person, not just a parent. Together we will learn how to heal from the shoulds that dominate the parenting space to create your own unique parenting journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in gentle/positive parenting... but I also don't believe that there is a one-sized fits all solution to growing your family or being a parent. I believe that as parents, we are allowed to be a human first, a parent second, and that your parenting can be better for it! I believe in tearing down the narratives that we've been given about how we "should" grow our families, and what those families should look like. And most of all I believe in your power as an individual, as a parent, to create the family life that is most authentic and fulfilling to you and your family.
