About My Clients

I have found that my skills seem best suited for late adolescent, adult clients who are curious about themselves and are interested in open-ended, process oriented, relational therapy.

My Background and Approach

I have a long history of working in our community. I have a degree in substance use counseling, an undergraduate degree in social work, and have completed my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in a variety of settings with diverse populations including long-term care, hospice, substance use services, the criminal justice system, and community mental health. I have provided trainings and presentations locally, and regionally on the importance of relationships in supporting youth, as well as humanistic perspectives on both mental health and substance use. I view therapy and the therapeutic relationship from a dynamically oriented, Existential-Humanistic perspective. For me this means working in collaboration with individuals to co-create a relationship that inspires an exploration of self and meaning. Some of the questions that often arise as a result may lead us toward exploring how we understand ourselves, others, and our place in this world.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that respect and benevolent curiosity, engaged collaboratively, go a long way in addressing our deepest of concerns and struggles.
