About My Clients
I believe attending to one’s mental health is a central step in leading the “successful life” most people desire. I want my clients to know there is hope for positive change and that they do not have to be stuck in unhealthy patterns or state of mind. Whether you are seeking help with anxiety, depression, self-harm, anger, relationship improvement, life transitions, or various other difficulties, it is my desire to provide an empathetic ear and to treat you with dignity.
My Background and Approach
After completing an undergraduate degree in 2004, I gained experience through a variety of jobs. I was a behavioral aide with adolescents in a group home, a social worker with children & families in the foster care setting, & a case manager with adult individuals experiencing homelessness in a drop-in center. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2019. I have gained two years of clinical experience providing therapy to a variety of different ages in a clinical and school setting. I believe it is in the best interest of each individual with whom I work to consider who they are as a whole person; this includes their history, culture, gender, sexual expression, socioeconomic status, physical and spiritual health, and so many other facets that influence an individual and their wellbeing. I utilize a number of different therapeutic techniques to best suit each person, however, I tend to apply Person-Centered, Solution Focused, and CBT theories most often.
